Albin Lee Meldau

Albin Lee Meldau (born February 8, 1988) is a Swedish singer-songwriter from Gothenburg.

Born to a Swedish mother and an English father, both musicians (jazz singer and punk rocker respectively), he took trumpet lessons and singing in choir when he was very young and, at the age of 12, he started a cover band. He also played football until he was 16 before deciding to focus on music.

Later, as a young adult, Meldau played in the streets around Europe and formed a retro-soul band called Magnolia. He began his recording career in his mid-twenties, releasing the debut single “Lou Lou” in 2015. He released two EPs Lovers and Bloodshot in 2016 and 2017 respectively. This was followed by his debut album About You. He also released an EP in 2018 containing covers for Christmas called Blue Christmas and an EP containing acoustic versions of a few songs from the album recorded in London called The Purgatory Sessions.

In 2018, Meldau participated in the Swedish reality show Så mycket bättre. In this show, contestants sing covers of the other contestants' original songs.
