Booty Luv
Shine

1

Originally sung by Soul Singer Luther Vandross, Booty Luv covered the song and released it as their 2nd single, less than a year from the original release of the song by Vandross. "Shine" is well received by the radio and is added to BBC's Radio 1's A-playlist. The song peaked at numer 10 on the UK singles chart.

LOVES the Moto Blanco remix the most. As usual, he does amazing stuff. Helps that the album mix is already disco-ey enough. The song marries soul with disco. Ah, I could imagine Studio 54. Heh. One of my fave songs of their debut album. =)

As a bonus, I've added the Freemasons Club Mix of the Luther Vandross version, which is also great stuff. Enjoy!!! =)

As recommended by Friitz Quah!

From his home base in los angeles, Dj Alexander's talents are creating a buzz heard throughout the music scene. A master behind the turntables or in the recording studio, alex brings the same energetic approach to his original productions that he consistently delivers to his live audiences. A favorite of many of the top touring dj's today, alex's remix work graces playlists every weekend around the globe. But his ability to transform a live event into an unforgettable musical experience is where his deepest talents lie. Born in Cuba, surrounded by musical inspiration, alex's love of music surfaced early, and by age 19 he was working as a dj in la, learning the ropes from the diverse talent pool available to him. In 1999 he began his first residency at circus disco, and during his three years there developed the large loyal following he keeps to this day. Alex has had the opportunity to open & spin with Superstar's Victor Calderone, Peter Rauhofer, Junior Vasquez, Paulo, Manny Lehman, Tracy Young, Tony Moran and Hex Hector to name a few, spinning at resolution in the legendary mayan theater, as well as vision at avalon, 2t fruity in Atlanta, Dallas "skeleton's ball", & Piranha in Las Vegas. He has also headlined numerous gay pride events over the years up and down the west coast, including club Montage san diego, palladium san francisco, ego and reflex la, the queen mary long beach, and heaven palm springs.

In February 2003 Alex debuted as the headliner for reload afterhours, packing the house as rotating resident for over a year, and currently has residencies at mars afterhours here in la, and adonis in san francisco. Whether it be an afterhours party or a main event, alex brings his extensive knowledge of house, tribal, hip-hop, and latin rhythm to the tables, forging a truly unique sound that has to be heard live to be fully appreciated. Incorporating new and classic tracks (often remixed) into his sets, Alex seamlessly blends pulsing deep house grooves and expressive vocal anthems, infusing them with tribal drums for a richly textured sound.

And with his innovative mixing skills, often more than two minutes between tracks, he creates polyrhythmic builds that take the energy higher and higher with each new layer, leaving the dancefloor begging for more. His fans return time and time again because they know there will always be surprises and as yet unheard mixes in every live performance.

Booty Luv
Boogie 2Nite

As I've featured the girls last mon on their newest single that will be out in AUG, I decided to do a week's worth of features on them that will consist of remixes to their singles and their debut album review.

A cover version of Tweet's, Seamus Haji remixed and produced the song. Booty Luv re-recorded the Seamus Haji version with their vocals and released it as their debut single.

The song was released in the UK via the Hed Kandi Label on 27th Nov 2006. The song is commercially successful as it peaked at number 2 on the UK singles chart and stayed in the Top 10 for 8 weeks in total.

The girls did a great job on this song and it's a smart move to release this as their debut single. Very Disco-ey, so me. Plus nothing would go wrong as Seamus Haji remixed the song. =)
