Keyshia Cole
"A Different Me" Album Review

For our third edition, we wanted to do Fall Out Boy's latest album. But when i was listening to it, all the songs sound the same to me... and i have nothing nice or bad to say. Actually come to think of it, i have one! They really have weird song titles as usual. So i made the executive decision to do a Keyshia Cole review instead. it was a last min decision. so it meant that we only had less than 24 hours to digest her album...

Album Review:

dirrtysean:
Keyshia Cole released her third studio album this week titled "A Different Me". Yea, so in this album, we're exposed to a different side of Keyshia. Some might say her other side is her sex-up image (check out the album artwork) to make herself more appealing to the masses. But according to her, her previous 2 albums were more focused on heartbreaks.. but for this album she leaning more on growing as an artists and exploring life through music. I dont know where she's going at.. but whatever.

The album in general has a nice tone to it... it can be heard from her lead single "Playa Cardz Right" which features vocals from the late TuPac. I feel that TuPac's vocal blends with the song well. Produced by Ron Fair (the man behind Christina Aguilera, Pussycat Dolls, Black Eyed Peas). The feel of this song does represents the album well. But it can be quite monotonous when you're listening to the whole album a few times over and over again.

Songs i like on first listen are "Erotic" (the title says all) and "Please Dont Stop". If you place the song titles back to back you're get.. "Please dont stop the eroticness"... lol.. Lame me...

Track Review by airotcivqueen:
  • Playa Cardz Right
Collaboration with the late legendary hip hop star 2pac.
A unique collaboration, and one of my favorite tracks.
  • True
Another favorite of mine, Keyshia sings about trust, one thing we all want in a relationship!
  • This Is Us
A more romantic, cheery track, it has this uplifting of moods feeling
  • Please Don't Stop
A slightly fast, upbeat track, which might be remixed, booty shaking worthy
  • No Other
Small bit of rap infused in the song, but still pretty good

I say spin it, pretty good tracks on the overall, be it slow or fast, but not much of a very outstanding track, but still a good listen.

dirrtysean::
As what airotcivqueen: said, there are no outstanding tracks. This is a quite boring album... But a fan of Keyshia's will definitely appreciate this. I still prefer her previous singles anyday like "Let It Go", "Heaven Sent" and "Love"...

Britney Spears
"Circus" Album Review

Dirrty Double Trouble is back doing Britney Spears this week!

Album Review:

:
Circus is Britney's 6th studio album. It managed to sell half a million since its debut last week in the US.

One would expect this album judging from her #1 lead single to be Blackout 2.0 - filled with dancey fast paced songs. But after listening to it, it has a fair share of fast and slow songs.

My fave song of this album is Unusual You, produced by Avant and Bloodshy. She definitely got the big guns in the industry for her latest effort. Imagine how much her label has spent on this. I didnt like the track Circus at first, then i got hooked by the pre-chorus hook. The other song that caught my attention is If U Seek Amy. I'm puzzled at first on what the song is about. One would think it's about Amy Winehouse... then slowly towards drugs. But apparently its about sex... I(f) (U) See(k) A(my)... Put it all togther, you'll get FUCKME... that's what i read online. Don't know how true is it or not...

My dirrty partner, has a selective track by track review...

Track Review:

  • Circus: We all have heard it, it is upbeat, and dancey pretty much.

  • Shattered Glass: Another dancey track, might be better with remixes.

  • My Baby: Sounds a lil like her old track Everytime, rather slow and emotional.

  • Unusual You: Sounds really different from her usual tracks. DURH! Unusual

Rating:
: I'm not giving any rating. Just because...
:

Overall
:
This is really an album for a Britney fan, after drama mama antics, she's back hoping to be better than ever. Is she? We'll see!

:
I find the album overall a bit turnoff-ish, due to the fact that her voice sounds very weird and different on each track.

Brandy
Human Album Review

Welcometo our brand new segment, Dirrty Double Trouble, the only segment where the both of us your dirrty duo (Seanies & Airotciv) commbine our almighty (dirrty) forces to post in this column.

In Dirrty Double Trouble, we review brand new albums together, and rate them, and tell you guys whether to spin it or trash it. We tell you the tracks we like and what tracks we don't. So you guys get a rough idea on what the album feels like! For today, we bring you Brandy's latest album, Human. Enjoy!

Album Review:

:
Human is Brandy's 5th studio album. Her first since 2005.

In life we do go through a lot.. The ups and downs. And this album makes you feel how is it like to be human again. No hype, no gloss, just pure emotions. This album generally is filled with slow songs. I was expected something more dancey and fast since Rodney Jerkins (aka the DarkChild dude - Beyonce, Janet, Britney) is on board for this album. This album is for the broken hearted and the emofied people (like me).

There are a few standout tracks...
I presonally like Fall (written by Brandy and Natasha Bedingfield), Long Distance (her 2nd single), Right Here (first single).

My dirrty partner, has a selective track by track review...

Track Review:

  • The Definition
Groove worthy! I love the beat
  • Right Here (Departed)
One of the first few we heard from the album, I like the Moto Blanco remixed version better
but the original track does sound great as well!
  • Long Distance
I like this song, powerful music + great vocals<
  • Piano Man
Another pretty upbeat track, I forsee a remixed version to be groove worthy
  • Camouflage
Has a heartwarming feeling, and pretty meaningful lyrics.
  • Human
I kinda expected more from this song, but still if you like slow tracks, you might like this.
  • True
    A slow but powerful song
  • A Capella
A capella indeed! Has a very different feeling from the rest of the tracks because of the A capella in the background.

Rating:
: (just because i'm bias and i'm a brandy fan..)
:

Overall
:
I say spin it, most of the tracks are pretty good, and even if some do not really stand out, they are quite good to listen to! But then again, it depends on the type of music you guys go for!

:
Overall, Brandy never fails to amaze me. But i still prefer her previous album, Afrodisiac. Anyways, in the world where you have your Rihanna's, Beyonce's and your alicia keys, its hard for artists like Brandy to shine. But i wish her all the best.
