I was born in Birmingham in 1981. I moved to Manchester in 2002. Been DJ-ing for over 6 years at Manchester’s Cruz 101 (The Original Home Of Queer As Folk) Based in the heart of the Gay Village, Cruz 101 seen it all over the last 20 Years, but I’m happy that and proud that I get to please the Manchester Gays every weekend. I'm Andy Gates, a Professional Nightclub/Bar DJ based in High Wycombe, near London (UK). I'm currently the Resident DJ at a highly reputable nightclub called 'Sakura' (Reading, UK), where I play a mix of House/EDM, Commercial/Chart Remixes/Mashups & Club Classics/Anthems, whilst regularly sharing the decks with the likes of Pete Tong, Danny Rampling, Steve Smart, East & Young, to name just a few. Previously, along with successfully organising and promoting my own House/EDM event brand for 5 years, I held down residencies for various well-renowned London-based event brands (2008-2012), such as 'Shiva', 'Licked', 'Promised' and 'Twilo', whilst playing out at many of London's premiere nightspots in the process, including; Ministry of Sound, Pacha, Egg, O2 Academy Brixton, Lightbox and The Whitehouse, alongside the likes of Fedde Le Grand, Mark Knight, The Shapeshifters, Hoxton Whores and Armin Van Buuren.

My first residency was Scamps in Oxford, then Leicester, Newcastle & Preston – i then had a call from an agency in Denmark, worked in that country also Norway, Switzerland, Luxembourg, France & Germany where i stayed for 14 years. My last residency was a famous club called SCALA in Bremen. I quit in 1992 – but music is in my blood at the age of 57, we now own a Taxi/Chauffeur Company in England, where my music is played every day.
