hey guys, if you didn't know, i about to replace sharebeast with our own cloud storage system. So i will have more control on the servers and can react quickly if any of the servers fail.

I've got a lot on my plate now and I need help. I'm looking for someone who has advanced server management skills to help me to build and configure our upcoming cloud storage system. The virtual machine servers have been created and the web app has been purchased. It's a PHP based script and the servers are running NGINX with PHP5-FM installed. I have invested USD500 on this so far and thats not counting the monthly costs for each server to support this project.

So I'm hoping this person(s) can help me optimize and further configure the servers so we can launch this service soon. The server admin can also recommend better server specs and server OS needed.

Required skills:
- Well-versed with Linux command lines
- SSH into root to configure and optimize servers
- Install or update server apps/OS (Apache2/NGINX)
- Optimize main servers and all file servers under it)
- Optional: Create cron jobs or write shell scripts)
- Optional: System admin/Customer relation

This can be a 1 day job or 1 week job or 1 month job depending on what you want to help out on. The Webserver Admin main job is to create the "ideal" environment for our cloud service application and make sure the scripts are working and mounting is enabled. If you want to help out with the initial setup process for the launch or stay on to be the official server guy for the site, be my guest.

We are also looking for volunteers who can help with below:
- Web designer to help design a logo and also the site design
- PHP/HTML developer implement designs created by the designer
- Cloud service admin to monitor content uploaded onto the servers

More details will be revealed after contacting us.
If interested, send us reply below. Form details after the form.

Under SUBJECT, enter: Server Admin, Designer, Developer, Customer Relation or Moderator
Under MESSAGE, tell us what you can help out and send links to your work as reference and tell a lil bit more about your skill sets.

file sharing service!

Aug 26th, 2014; 3:36 am (GMT+8) 19
Hey guys,

We are going to creating our very own file sharing service.
And we need a name for it!

What do you think we should call it? I'm thinking of having the "dirrty" branding in it. Or maybe something very cool that it stands out. But of course, it should sound like a cloud/file sharing service. Because this is going to be open to everybody not exclusively to dirrtyremixes and our visitors and sharers, i will promise a dedicated server for all remixes related uploads and another one-two for others. I might even use 2 different names. One to cater to the dirrtyremixes and remixes community and another for everybody else but all pointing to the same servers. So you'll get a choice on what to use.

Since generic domain names are all taken up. The site name should be kinda creatively uniquely too. So we can get cool looking domain name together with it! it can be a word play using country based domain names or even the new ones. Below are a list of domains that we recently purchased:
remix.es (for future developments)
drrtyr.mx (URL shorteners for our social media)
drrtyr.mx (site alternative URL)
dirrty.co (TBD: Branding purposes for now)
dirrty.club (TBD: Branding purposes for now)
remixes.club (TBD: Branding purposes for now)
dirrtyshar.es (i did a premature buy this)
filesharing.io (oops, i did it again!)

A list of NEW Top Level Domain names can be found here (not your usual .com names).

If there's not suitable names, i will just use "dirrtyshar.es" and "filesharing.io" (io means input/output, in other words data transfer)

server speed optimization

Mar 11th, 2014; 12:27 am (GMT+8) 0
some gibberish nonsense you might not understand or care...
okay, so for the past week, the site has been experiencing a lot of slowness. And with the spike of traffic, it's not making things any better. so for the next few days, i will be to play around with the server. Unfortunately, I will on all fours and my hands are probably gonna get very dirrty (urm, it's all dirrty to begin with, lol). Yeah, I really have to go deep down to see what's causing the slowness and at the same time install new server services to increase performance & speeds and not forgetting improvement in caching methods. At the moment, we already have 2 levels of caching - one using a wordpress plugin and another method created by me. I might even have to add another method of caching. On the site, current we have caching in place for "download counts" and "play counts". That's why the download statistic always seem constant or stuck at 0 for a long span of time (up to 2 hours or maybe more). It doesn't mean nobody is visiting the site or is nobody is playing any of the tracks. You're be surprised by the number of actual downloads we get a day! it's crazy high! Back to topic: I already done a lot of reading and have a game plan, so don't worry! You will still get the best dirrty experience* as always.

So if you see weird errors around the site or weird extra terrestrial happenings, just be patient. It's probably me on all fours tweaking codes or rewiring the cables or maybe even ripping the RAM out and literally RAM it with my imaginary bulldozer! Yeah, it does get pretty intense! Let the work begin! will send an update when it's done :)

If you're too lazy to read the whole thing or very clueless at this point of time,
i think i can explain it in one sentence:
I'm remixing the servers with cool beats and making it better than the current server

time to get my geek on!
dirtysean of dirrtyremixes.com

* experience may differ by location or the speed of user's internet. it might get too dirrty or get very cleaan. but we're hoping a pleasant dirrty one for you guys.
