Voted one of the Most Underrated Artist of 2009 is getting all her luck changed for the new years. YEA! She's starting to get the credit she deserves. Being #1 this week in the big USA is definitely a good start for her this year...

Childhood - Early Life
Lady Gaga was born Joanne Stefani Germanotta on March 20, 1986 in Yonkers New York, to an Italian family. It seems Lady Gaga’s career started way back when she was younger. As a little girl, she would sing along to Michael Jackson and Cyndi Lauper, she would also dance to the Beatles and Rolling Stones.
She was also seemingly a child music prodigy. At the age of 4, she learnt to play the piano by ear, by 13, she wrote her first piano ballads, and at 14 she played open mike nights at New York clubs. At 17, she was one of the 20 kids who were talented enough to get early admission to Tisch School of the Arts at NYU.
Career: 2006-Present
Gaga met producer Rob Fusari who also was the one who gave her the stage name “Lady Gaga†in reference to the song by Queen “Radio Ga-Gaâ€Â because she was so full of energy and dramatic. She wrote her early hits like “Beautiful, Dirty, Rich†, “Disco Heaven†and “Dirty Ice-cream†with Fusari.
Previously Lady Gaga was signed on to Def Jams which only lasted for 3 months. She then joined Interscope as a song writer and partnered with Akon. It was then Gaga realised her vocal strengths, and worked on her album. She wanted wanted to mix her retro dance beats with urban melodies, a pop chorus and still retain a rock 'n' roll edge, because she already had Queen – David Bowie inspired songs.
By 2008, her first baby “The Fame†was born. The album has reached at number 17 on the Billboard 200 with first week sales of 24,000 units. It also debuted at number one on the Billboard Top Electronic Album charts. Her single “Just Dance†also reached number one in Australia and Canada.
But Gaga is probably only beginning to taste her sweet success. With such great vocals, hyped songs, dancey tracks, amazing album, crazy hairs and outfits, plus a funky attitude to go along with. It’s hard not to love this girl. Lady Gaga, is totally worth going gaga over. Besides, she is unique, though previously rumoured to have copied Christina Aguilera’s image and hairstyles, or vice versa. She doesn’t need to copy, Lady Gaga is a brand new addition to this world’s talented singers and performers, one we are all hoping would produce better tracks and more earth shattering albums.
Singles
Her lead single Just Dance features Colby O'Donis and Akon and produced by RedOne was released back in April 2008. After more than half a year later, it still creating buzz in the US. As of January, 9, 2009, Just Dance is #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, Billboard Pop 100, and Billboard Hot Digital Tracks. It was also a #1 hit in Australia and Canada previously.
Poker Face, her second single of her album, was again produced and written by RedOne with Gaga herself. Was released somewhere in September 2008 and has reached #1 in Australia, New Zealand and Canada. And it starting to gain airplay in the US.
Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say) is set to be her 3rd single for the Australian market. While Love Game will be her 3rd single worldwide and 4th single for Australia.
