The Saturdays - Wordshaker Album Megamix

saturdayswordshaker

Here's a sneak listen of some tracks that would be on their 2nd studio album, "Wordshaker", which would be release on 12th Oct 2009. I must say this megamix sounds great. Considered as a growth and an improvement over the "already good" first album material that they recorded.

My fave tracks are the last 2 songs of the megamix, "One Shot" and "Ego". Both are not cover versions, don't worry. First single "Forever is Over" is still growing on me, in a good way though. I'll definitely review the album when it's out. Enjoy the megamix!!! =)

*PS* The official album cover art is weird, though I like the colour scheme treatment again. They look like different coloured parrots being pearched on a branch. The long train made me have that analogy. LOL =X

im-not-your-toy

The fourth single taken from La Roux's debut album, "I'm Not Your Toy" is set to release on 28 Sept in the UK. The single is accompanied by 2 remixes of the song, the Jack Beats Remix and Data Remix.

The Data remix feels like an alternate mix instead of a proper dance remix. Quite good, love the dramatic orchestra intro. As for the Jack Beats remix, has electro beats but feels like a dub to me. I'm hoping there'll be unofficial mixes too. These 2 remixes doesn't really live up to the brillance of the original track. Enjoy!!! =)

natalie_want_cover

Remember "Torn"??? It's still her biggest hit to date. But "Wrong Impression" and "Shiver" are recognisable too. Natalie has gone with a darker sound on the lead single of her upcoming 4th studio album, "Come to Life", releasing first on Oct 2nd in certain parts of Europe.

"Want" describes Natalie's point of view of moving on and hopes that her ex can do the same. She also co-wrote this song with Chris Martin from Coldplay. I don't really like the cover art though.

This already excellent track gets good remixes too. Both the Blunt Laser and Buzz Junkies mix are club-ready. The Cassette Club Remix has a disco vibe and the Shapeshifters remix is dark house. Enjoy!!!

ladygaga-hitmixes

Yes, the record company is milking Lady Gaga too (after Rihanna and Beyonce). Her newest EP "Hitmixes", it features some remixes of her singles. Already released in Canada, it will be released worldwide on September 1st. Oh, and they recycled the cover art from "LoveGame", on budget eh.

Didn't really like the tracklisting, the selection of remixes kinda sucked. But there's a new remix though, "The Fame", Glam As You Remix Radio Edit. A fairly decent mix, the original album version is rather hyper though. Would this song be a single, maybe. Or do any of you prefer "Boys, Boys. Boys"???

I hope "The Fame: Monster" would be as good as the album in terms of the new tracks. Once an underground dance sensation (anyone remembers her first live TV performance on Miss Universe last year??), she have become a mainstream crazed artist. While I'm irritated with the Gaga-inspired fans, I'll still support her music no matter what. =)

Beyonce - Sweet Dreams

Jun 19th, 2009; 5:45 pm (GMT+8) 2

It's been awhile since I've rant, so I'm back!!! "Sweet Dreams" is released as the sixth single from Beyonce's "I Am… Sasha Fierce" album. In the US, the song is released on the Top 40 and rhythmic radio on June 2nd while in the UK, the CD single would be release on July 20th which no doubt would have more remixes of this song.

This song was leaked before the release of the album and was titled "Beautiful Nightmare". With the release of "I Am… Sasha Fierce", the song name was changed to its current title, "Sweet Dreams". This song was selected as the sixth single from the album as a last minute replacement for "Broken-Hearted Girl".

I would rather have BHG as a single than Ego. Ego is just not single material. At least her management has decided to release "Sweet Dreams", which is a good song for the summer. I do love the remix that is included on "Above and Beyoncé Video Collection & Dance Mixes" album. Definitely would be a club hit!!!

Listening to the original album edit, I can't help but wonder did Beyonce steal the "Turn the light off" phrase from fellow DC member, Michelle Williams, in which the same phrase could be heard on "Hello Heartbreak" too.

As for the video, there's the behind the scene footage of it. I do quite like the gold-plated corset that she wore. At 1:37, I see something disturbing on Beyonce's chest. Hmm...or is it???
